Powerball Results 20 August 2026: Winning Numbers and Analysis
Powerball's 20 August 2026 draw produced no Division 1 winner, leaving the $5,000,000 jackpot unclaimed. The draw is the latest in a run where the top prize has rolled over, meaning the jackpot will grow ahead of the next scheduled draw.
The winning main numbers were 3, 9, 11, 13, 14, 22, and 29, with a Powerball of 20. All seven main numbers fell within the range of 1 to 29, making this a notably low-number draw given the main pool extends up to 35.
Division 2 produced one winner, taking home $303,995. Division 3 paid out across 32 winning entries at $11,750 each, while Division 4 saw 699 winners collect $469 apiece. Divisions 5 and 6 combined accounted for more than 19,800 winning entries, with payouts of $190 and $83 respectively.
Every one of the seven winning main numbers landed in the 1 to 31 birthday calendar range, with none reaching the under-picked zone above 31. Draws concentrated in the birthday range tend to attract more ticket holders, which increases the likelihood of prize sharing when Division 1 is won. Players who selected numbers weighted toward 32 and above did not see those numbers come up, though the Division 1 jackpot went unclaimed regardless.
Outnumber generates number combinations weighted towards the 32 to 35 range and other under-represented selections across the main pool. The intention is to reduce expected prize sharing if a jackpot is won, not to improve the probability of winning. The odds of any given combination winning remain fixed regardless of which numbers appear on a ticket.
