Cookie Policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Outnumber uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your login state or site preferences, across sessions. Cookies are widely used by websites to make them function efficiently and to provide information to the site operators.
Cookies we use
Outnumber uses the following categories of cookies:
Analytics cookies
Non-essentialSet by: Google Analytics (GA4)
Purpose: These cookies collect anonymised information about how visitors use the site, including which pages are visited, how long sessions last, and approximate geographic location (country and state level only). This helps us understand usage patterns and improve the site. No personally identifiable information is collected. IP addresses are anonymised.
Cookies set: _ga, _ga_[ID], _gid
Duration: Up to 2 years for _ga; 24 hours for _gid.
Authentication and session cookies
EssentialSet by: Supabase Auth (authentication provider)
Purpose: These cookies are required for the sign-in and session management features of Outnumber. When you sign in to your account, Supabase Auth sets an encrypted session cookie that keeps you logged in as you navigate between pages. Without this cookie, you would be required to sign in again on every page load.
Cookies set: sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token, and related Supabase Auth authentication tokens
Duration: Session-based; expires when you sign out or the session times out (typically 7 days of inactivity).
Payment cookies
Essential (during checkout)Set by: Stripe
Purpose: When you proceed to checkout for a Pro subscription, Stripe sets cookies to secure the payment session, prevent fraud, and maintain checkout state. These cookies are only set during the Stripe-hosted checkout flow and are strictly necessary for payment processing.
Duration: Session-based; expire when the checkout session ends.
How to manage and disable cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View the cookies currently stored on your device
- Block cookies from all or specific websites
- Delete cookies at any time
- Set your browser to notify you before accepting a cookie
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
You can also opt out of Google Analytics specifically by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Impact of disabling cookies
Disabling different types of cookies has different effects:
- Analytics cookies: Disabling these will not affect how the site functions. You will simply not be tracked in our site analytics.
- Authentication cookies: Disabling these will prevent you from staying logged in. You will need to sign in on every visit and will not be able to access dashboard features, saved sets, or Pro features.
- Payment cookies: Disabling these may prevent the Stripe checkout from functioning correctly. If you need to subscribe to Pro, you should allow Stripe cookies for the duration of the checkout process.
Third-party cookies
We do not set advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond those described above. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or share your browsing behaviour with ad networks.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if we introduce new site features that require additional cookies. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
